​TUJUAN PEMBELAJARAN

Melalui pendekatan saintifik dengan menggunakan model belajar discovery learning , siswa diharapkan mampu menganalisis, memilih, menyusun, membuat dan menampilkan sesuai konteks penggunaanya, dengan memperhatikan fungsi sosial, struktur teks dan unsur kebahasaannya secara benar dan sesuai konteks dengan mengembangkan sikap jujur berkarya, tanggungjawab dan toleran (minimal 75 % benar sesuai KKM).

​DEFENITION :

Narrative text is a piece of writing that tells a story. The story can be imaginary or based on a real incident. A narrative always deals with some problems which lead to the climax and then turn into a solution to the problem.(Setiadi, Linawati, dkk, 2012)

The purpose of narrative text is

§ to amuse or to entertain the reader with a story

§ to tell a story about something or someone

The generic structure of narrative text is:

Orientation

  Orientation is a set of the scene: where and when the story   happened and introduces the participants of the story: who and   what is involved in the story.

Complication

It tells the beginning of the problems which leads to the crisis   (climax) of the main participants.

Resolution

The problem (the crisis) is resolved, either in a happy ending or   in sad (tragic) ending.

This is a closing remark to the story and it is optional. It   consists of a moral lesson, advice or teaching from the writer

The lexicogrammatical features of narrative text usually uses:

  • The past verbs, for examples: walked, became, stopped, wrote, etc

  • The specific participants, for examples: Malin Kundang, Siti Nurbaya, he, she, they, etc

  • The adjectives materials to build the noun groups to describe the people or things, or animals in the story, for examples: an old..., the better..., etc.

  • Adverbs and adverbial phrases to locate the particular events, for examples; as once upon a time, long time ago, et

  • Action verbs to indicate the actions, for examples; stood, explained, provided, smashed, etc

  • Saying and thinking verbs to indicate what characters are feeling thinking or saying, for examples: told, realized, decidede,etc

  • The connective words, for examples: when, then, etc

  • Direct speech, for example; She said; “Yes, but you have to promise not to tell anyone about the secret that I was once a fish, otherwise there will be a huge disaster”.

  • Indirect speech, for example; The lion begged to the mouse not to lie on him
