Subject-Verb Agreement
SUBJECT = NOUN names a person, place, or thing.
VERB shows action.

The SUBJECT must agree with the VERB
If the SUBJECT is SINGULAR, the VERB must also be SINGULAR.
If the SUBJECT is PLURAL, the VERB must also be PLURAL.

Rule 1: A singular subject must use a singular verb form that ends in s: is, was, has, does, or verbs ending with es.
Example:
The student is happy.
Caylee has a dog.
Alena stands by the table.
