​Let us read the story:        

      New Era University will have a contest called “Batang Makakalikasan 2022” later this afternoon at Integrated School Covered Court. Many people wanted to watch it including Zarah and Sofia, with their friends Jenica and Angela. They went to the venue early to make sure that they get a good spot because their classmate is one of the finalists in the said contest.

​While they were waiting, they decided to buy some food at the canteen so they will have something to eat in case they get hungry. They passed by a small garden where beautiful plants and flowers were planted.

​ They saw signs that say “No Stepping on the Grass” and “Don’t Pick Flowers”. Zarah ignored these signs and invited the girls to pick some of the flowers so they could bring them home and plant them, too. Sofia stopped and reminded her of the lesson they had in Science about plants.

​Jenica added that they should also obey the signages inside the campus so as to take care of the garden. While they were talking, their adviser, Ms. Mendoza, approached them to say hello. She also appreciated the beautiful flowers in the garden.

​She mentioned that the plants make the surroundings clean and beautiful, so she reminded them to follow the signages posted. Zarah immediately realized her mistake and apologized to her teacher and friends.

The girls then went to their chosen spot in the Covered Court and started eating the food they had bought. Angela suggested to keep their garbage in a small plastic bag first, then throw it later in a trash can they will find as they go home. ​

Later that day, their classmate was declared the winner as Batang Makakalikasan 2022. Before they headed to the exit door, they looked for the trash can to throw their garbage.​

  The girls went home happy because their classmates won and they did something good for the environment. They realized and learned to obey the signages, not only in school but also, in other places.​
