The Industrial Revolution

This was an era of rapid scientific discovery and industrial growth. New technologies such as the Steam Engine invented by Thomas Watt meant products could be made faster the by hand. This also lead to more jobs for unskilled workers in factories which were located in cities. The mass movement of these people into the cities is called Urbanization. Urbanization was an important part of the Industrial Revolution.

Imperialism

To fuel the growth of the Industrial Revolution European countries sought to take resource rich land away from African and Asian nations. 4

Social Revolutions
