We use "There is/isn't" to mention that something singular​ exists or not

Example: ​There is a dog barking => There is not a chair in my bedroom => There's a cat on the roof => There isn't a single dollar in my wallet.

We can use the contracted version of There is => There's and There is not => There isn't. We always use a/an after There is or There isn't.​

We use "There are/aren't" to mention that more than one thing exist or not.

Example: There are some students in class => There are not people waiting outside => There aren't enough chairs for all of us.

We can use the contracted form of There are not => There aren't. Moreover, it isn't necessary to say or know the exact number of the things we mention, it's enough if they are more than one.​

We use "Some" to talk about the existence of more than one thing, but we don't know the exact number.

​Example: There are some students who haven't done the homework => There are some magazines on the table

We ​usually use some after There are, we always use it before plural nouns but we never use it with There is.

We use "Any" to talk about the non-existance of something.

Example: There aren't any proofs of the crime => There aren't any discounts todays

We always use ​any with There aren't, and always in negative sentences.
