There are 3 main colour wheels
Artist's Colour Wheel

RGB Colour Wheel
Since cameras create images by recording light, they use the RGB colour wheel

Artists' Colour Wheel (a.k.a. RYB) because it's used by artists to mix paint
Primary Colours: Red, Yellow, & Blue
Adding all of the primaries colours creates black.
The only way to get white is to take all of the colours away. This will leave you with a blank white canvas.
As a result, it's is called a Subtractive model.
