Present form is called BASE form

You use this verb when you are talking about something happening now
(know as the PRESENT--see what they did? PRESENT Tense--PRESENT
time)

Example: We KNOW what we are doing after school.

Example: Mrs. Doenges IS the best teacher ever.

Example: Mrs. Doenges HAS the cutest children.

Participles

To make a participle you have to add a helping verb before it

(be, am, is, are, was, were, been, have, has, had, should, would, could, shall, will, might, must,
may, can, do, did, does)

Present Participle:

Use a helping verb(s) first

Then use the base form of the
word with the ending -ing

Example:
Are + sail + -ing = are sailing

Example:
Is + be + ing = is being

Past Participle:

Use a helping verb(s)

Then use the base form of the word
with th ending -d or -ed

Example:
Had + sail + ed = had sailed

Example:
Has + promise + d + Has promised
