It is fall when you can see stems that are full of red, red, red!

All that red drops down on the grass.

It makes big red patches like thick red rugs.

Fall is pretty. It is cold as well.

Ducks fly away in fall. Big flocks of ducks flap off to where it is not cold.

Ducks quack as they flap. Ducks stop on this big trip to snack, chat, sip, plan, and nap. Then the ducks will flap, flap, flap away again.

Frogs hop less when it is cold. In fall, they nap in gaps in logs. Frogs can find such gaps in big logs.

Some bugs nap in cracks. Fat, wet slugs nap as well. You can spot them if you pick up rocks.

Bats can zip and grab bugs, but bugs can not fly well when it is cold.

Bats nap then, because if bugs do not fly, bats can not get them.

Bats can nap in thin cracks. Bats nap in big dens in cliffs as well.

What is this? It snacks on nuts.

It snaps up bugs. It digs up grubs.

It rips up big logs to find bits that it can eat. This one gets fat!

Then it will nap in a big, dim den.

It will live off its thick fat as it naps.
