Add the bases.

The bases are the 2 sides across from each other that are parallel. You should always add them first.​

But you can solve it in 3 steps!​

Multiply the sum of the bases and the height.

Take the answer you got when adding the bases and multiply it by the height.​

Divide the product by 2.

We do this because the formula says 1/2. When I multiply by 1/2 it is the same as dividing by 2.​
