Birds evolved from small theropod dinosaurs.
More than 300 species of dinosaurs have been discovered.
5
Now, from movies such as Jurassic world or Jurassic park we learnt a few things of dinosaurs.

armor - a hard covering to protect the animal from attack.
They used their club tails to defend themselves against predators like the Tyranosaurus rex.

How do we know about Dinosaurs?
Special Scientists called "Palentologists" learn about dinosaurs.
They study fossils.
Fossils are bones, eggs, teeth, scales, or plants left behind from long ago.
38
Fossils that leave marks in the ground.
Footprints, shells, and more can make a mark
Do you want to make one?
Impression Fossils

The same shape and size as dinosaur bones.
Made of rock and minerals.
Not real!
We can make this too
Cast Fossils
40
ACTUAL REAL DINOSAUR OR ANIMAL PIECES.
VERY, VERY OLD TEETH, BONES, LEAVES, OR EGGS
Preservation Fossils
