The Arabic word for purity and
cleanliness is Taharah.
What is Taharah?
It refers to the process of cleansing and
the removal of anything that may pollute
that object (e.g. dirt, spots, smell, and
germs) with things that are unwanted or
harmful to that person

Is Taharah a condition for the prayer?
Yes, and it is half of faith
“Cleanliness is the half of faith.” (Hadith)
“For Allah loves those who turn to Him
constantly and He loves those who keep
themselves pure and clean...”
(al-Baqara, 222).
