In Northern Vietnam, the food is less spicy than in other regions. It features a balanced mix of salty, bitter, sweet, and sour flavors. Pho, Banh Cuon, and Bun Rieu are typical breakfast dishes in the North.
Central Vietnam is well known for its generous use of spices. Notably, in Hue, the foods are influenced by the traditional royal cuisine of Vietnam. Bun Bo Hue and Mi Quang are signature breakfast dishes in the region.
In Southern Vietnam, the foods tend to be more vibrant, sweeter, and tasty. Some iconic breakfast foods in the South include Com Tam, Banh Mi, Bo Ne, Banh Canh, etc.

DIFFERENCES BETWEEN
NUCLEAR FAMILY /// EXTENED FAMILY
45
Nuclear Family:
Advantages:
Privacy and independence: Smaller family size allows for more personal space and freedom to make decisions without extended family input.
Clear roles and responsibilities: Fewer members make it easier to define and manage individual roles and tasks within the household.
Financial flexibility: Often requires less income to support a smaller family unit, potentially leading to greater financial flexibility.
Disadvantages:
Limited support network: Smaller family means fewer people to rely on for childcare, eldercare, or emotional support during challenging times.
Increased pressure on parents: Parents shoulder most of the childcare and household responsibilities, leading to potential stress and burnout.
Social isolation for children: Fewer siblings and cousins can limit children's social interactions and opportunities to learn from a wider range of family members.
46
Extended Family:
Advantages:
Stronger support network: Larger family provides a wider network of people to offer emotional, financial, and practical support during life's ups and downs.
Shared responsibilities: Childcare, eldercare, and household chores can be shared among more members, easing the burden on individual parents or caregivers.
Richer social environment: Children benefit from interacting with and learning from a wider range of family members, fostering stronger social skills and a sense of belonging.
Disadvantages:
Potential for conflict: With more people come diverse opinions and personalities, which can lead to disagreements and family conflict.
Privacy and independence: Living with extended family can limit individual privacy and autonomy due to shared living spaces and potential interference in decision-making.
Complex family dynamics: Navigating the relationships and expectations within a large family can be challenging and require effective communication and compromise.
