Luffy's Dilemma

Luffy loved history and wanted to find out what really happened during a mysterious event in his town a long time ago. He started by looking at primary sources, like old newspapers and government papers, but some of the information was confusing. To understand better, he read secondary sources, which are books and articles written by other historians. As Luffy researched, he found two different views about the event. One view said it was a heroic moment for the town, while the other view suggested it was more complicated and had some problems.

To learn more, Luffy talked to people who were related to those who saw the event happen. This is called oral history. He also looked at numbers and facts from government information to see what life was like back then.

In the end, Luffy learned that history is not just one story. It has many parts and different viewpoints. One view focused on the heroes, while the other showed that there were more complicated issues and important stories from people who were often ignored.

Answer each question below:

In 2-3 sentences, Give one type of source used by Luffy and what are the 2 different perspectives mentioned in the story?
