The Spanish alphabet, with 27 letters, is the same as the English alphabet with the addition of the ñ.

Although English does not have the letter ñ, there are English words that have the sound, like “canyon” and “onion.”

Although they still have distinct pronunciations in Spanish, the letters ll and ch were removed from the Spanish alphabet by the Royal Spanish Academy in 2010.

They are called digraphs. A digraph is a combination of two letters that make one sound.
