We use subject pronouns to replace nouns (people, places, things, or ideas). Usually we use them when referring to people or objects).

Replace the subject in a sentence to avoid repetitions.

Ex: Miguel is a sixth grader. He is very intelligent.

Instead of using Miguel's name again, we can use the pronoun "he" to refer to him as we continue talking.

​In English there is only one way to say "you." In Spanish there's five different ways.

You can either use a casual or formal singular "you" or a casual or formal plural "you."

Vosotros and vosotras mean "you" in a plural way and is typically heard in Spain.

Although usted is a "formal" you in some Spanish speaking countries it is the norm to use because it's polite and shows respect.
