Cold War

The United States wanted to see other nations turn to​ (a)   and a ​ (b)   style of economy. The Soviet Union wanted to see​ (c)   and a more​ (d)   style of economy. The United States had influence over ​ (e)   Europe and the Soviet Union had influence over Eastern Europe.

The United States wanted to be sure​ (a)   didn't spread into other parts of the world. This idea of stopping the spread of communism was known as​ (b)   . We were not happy with communism anywhere, but maybe we could keep it just in ​ (c)   Europe. The United States was​ (d)   that like dominoes one country after another might fall under communist influences. This fear was known as the ​ (e)   .

In order to keep​ (a)   in ​ (b)   Europe and spread it as much as possible we instituted the​ (c)   . This was a plan to help ​ (d)   countries hurt by World War II. and to keep them ​ (e)   from Soviet influence.

This policy of ​ (a)   nations hurt by war also shows the we​ (b)   that ​ (c)   like Adolf Hitler can come to power when nations are left in​ (d)   after a war. We did not wish to see​ (e)   repeat itself.
