Conditionals

Conditionals describe situations and their possible outcomes. They are formed with an "if" clause and a result clause.

Describes possible future events.

Form: If + present simple, will + infinitive.


Example: If it rains, I will stay inside.

First Conditional:

Describes general truths or facts.

Form: If + present simple, present simple.


Example: If you heat water, it boils.

Zero Conditional:

Zero & First Conditional

Describes past situations that did not happen (imaginary past).

Form: If + past perfect, would + have + past participle.


Example: If I had studied, I would have passed the test.

Third Conditional:

Describes hypothetical or unreal situations.

Form: If + past simple, would + infinitive.

Example: If I won the lottery, I would travel the world.
