The Electoral College
In the United States the President is voted for twice. The first election takes place in November on Election Day when registered voters go to the polls to cast their vote. A second election occurs about one month after Election Day in December when a group of several hundred people called electors representing the members of Congress from the fifty states plus three electors from the District of Columbia meet. This group is called the Electoral College.
