"Scorpions – Small but Dangerous"

Scorpions are small animals that live in hot and dry places like deserts. But they can also live in forests, grasslands, and even mountains. Scorpions are part of the arachnid family, like spiders and ticks. They have eight legs and two pincers to catch their food.

Scorpions have a long tail with a stinger at the end. They use the stinger to protect themselves and to catch insects. The stinger has venom. Most scorpions are not dangerous to people, but some can be very dangerous.

Scorpions sleep during the day and come out at night. This is because they are nocturnal. They hide under rocks or in holes to stay cool and safe.

If a person is stung by a scorpion, they may feel pain, swelling, or numbness. In serious cases, the person may feel dizzy or have trouble breathing. Children and older people are more at risk. If someone is stung, they should stay calm and go to the doctor quickly.

To stay safe, people should wear shoes when walking outside, especially in places where scorpions live. They should also check their shoes and clothes before putting them on.

Scorpions are interesting animals. If we learn about them and are careful, we can stay safe and respect them.
