Little Things Do Matter
Please use the settings button on the top left to modify your text settings. Simple tricks like making the font size, style, & theme can help keep your brain & eyes focused. There is even a dyslexia font that helps your eyes better distinguish words.
Although it may seem minor, studies have proven that these details impact student performance.
*Remember to do this when taking standardized tests.

Our first assignment in Actively Learn will be an informational text about ways to decrease your stress.
We will read this text aloud, but you need to answer the questions we come to individually.
If you do not have a laptop yet and cannot access Actively Learn on your phone (you should be able to), see me so I can record your name to exempt you from this assignment.
The text will be displayed so you can read along...

Class Black Out
You have a Bingo Sheet with 16 boxes.
1. Record your answer in each of the boxes.
If you do not have an answer for the box, (no middle name, don't know your zip code, etc.) cross the label off for now...
Please bring me your sheet when you are done so I can approve you to move on to step 2...
16
Class Black Out
2. Find someone in class who shares the same answer as you.
3. Record the name of the person who has something in common with you in the box.
DO NOT give your paper to them to write their names.
You CAN NOT use any person more than once.
4. IF no one has the same answer as you or you have an empty space, you can create a new commonality box. (wearing the same color, also wears glasses, etc.)
You are not done until you have 16 UNIQUE names IN YOUR HANDWRITING in the boxes.
17
Class Black Out Reflection
Once you have correctly filled out all of the boxes, please return to your seat to reflect on the experience. Your reflection can be about yourself, your interactions with your peers, or your peers.
Was it hard to talk to people you didn't know?
Were you surprised by anyone's answers?
What did you think of the people who didn't participate?
If you stayed in your seat, why?
Did you realize you are unique in some way (no one has your answer)?
Fill in the space at the bottom of the page with your reflections.

Reminders
You can submit your syllabus online if you lost your paper copy.
You should have DCPS Oneview installed on your phone for easy access to all things academic.
You will need a DCPS laptop daily.
You will need to disappear your phone in this room.
