What Are Capital Letters?

  • A capital letter is a big letter, like A, B, or C.

  • We use a capital letter at the beginning of every single sentence.

  • Always use a capital letter for the word I when talking about yourself.

  • Names of people, pets, and places always start with a capital letter.

  • Holidays like Christmas or Halloween must also start with a capital letter.

  • They help readers know when a new idea or sentence is starting.
