What Is an Irregular Noun?

Most nouns form the plural by adding -s or -es.
BUT… irregular nouns do not follow these rules.

They change in different or surprising ways.

Examples:

• man → men

• child → children

• tooth → teeth

Irregular Nouns That Stay the Same
