What is Foreign Object Damage?

• Any damage attributed to a foreign object, expressed in physical or economic terms, which may or may not degrade the product's required safety and/or performance characteristics

• An article or substance alien to an assembly that has been allowed to invade the product

• An occurrence of damage, or the potential for damage, or the service life impairment/operation restriction to an aircraft, major assembly, component or system attributed to debris

What can be considered as FOD?

• Anything that is where it doesn’t belong can be FOD

• Electronic Devices
