• to use shotgun shells containing lead for hunting water birds

It is prohibited in the territory of a nature reserve

• tree felling in a sanitary felling

• to pick berries or mushrooms

• regeneration of a forest by planting or sowing

It is prohibited in the territory of a nature reserve to install wind power stations

• with a diameter greater than five meters for the main rotor with blades

• with the highest point less than a height of 30 metres

• if it is not coordinated by the local government

Nature monument is not

• boulder (rock) of a volume 12 m³

• historical and cultural value church, built in the 13th century

• Swedish juniper with a trunk diameter of 0.9 m

To travel on surface water bodies with vessels or other floating means of conveyance is prohibited in

• Nature parks

• Nature reserves

• Protected landscape areas

The goal of protected landscape area is not

• to protect and preserve the cultural environment and landscapes characteristic of Latvia in all their diversity

• ensuring the preservation of the natural, cultural and historical values for tourism

• to ensure the preservation of environment appropriate for recreation of society and for tourism, and use of environment friendly management methods

The mowing direction in land used for agricultural purposes and glades in protected landscape area

• depends on a relief forms of the territory

• inward from the sides towards the center

• is not defined

The felling (removal) of a protected tree

• shall only be permissible if it has become dangerous and there is no other alternative to prevent the dangerous situation

• is not allowed in any case

• permitted if the landowner lodged a request to local municipality

Protected sea territories established

• to reduce sewage inflow in the Baltic Sea

• for the protection of protected biotopes and specially protected species habitat, as well as migratory bird significant feeding and wintering places

• to reduce catches of salmon in the Baltic Sea
