By August l945, in Europe had ended, but the war against Japan was still going on. Convinced a land invasion of Japan might result in the death of one million US men, President Harry Truman made the decision to drop the newly created Atomic Bomb first on Hiroshima, Japan and then on Nagasaki, Japan. Each bomb would kill over 100,000. however Japan would surrender and WWII was over.
