_________________is a set of guidelines, that aims to regulate all public and private agencies and organizations in the country that are engaged or planning to engage in providing direct or indirect Social Welfare and Development (SWD) programs and services.

Before any social welfare and development agency shall be duly registered and licensed, the following requirements must be duly complied with to the satisfaction of the Department of Social Welfare and Development, EXCEPT:

• That the applicant must be engaged mainly or generally in social welfare and development activities

• That the applicant keeps a record of all social development and/or welfare activities handled by it

• With financial capacity to operate for at least 2 years

• That the applicant must show in a duly certified financial statement that at least seventy percent (70%) of its funds are disbursed for direct social work services

Why is there a need to be Registered, Licensed, and Accredited?

• Recognize the vital contribution of SWDAs

• Ensure quality of programs & services

• Establish partnership between & among SWDAs

• Promote transparency and accountability in government

this refers to the process of assessing the qualifications and authorizing a SWDA to operate as a SWA or as an Auxiliary SWDA

Engaged mainly or generally in SWD activities, refers to the following EXCEPT:

• Primary purpose w/in the purview of SWD as indicated in the Articles of Incorporation

• Some of the Purpose are along w/ SWD as indicated in the Articles of Incorporation

• Pre-dominant activities are on SWD

• Planned or conducted on regular basis (SWD activities must be implemented for a minimum of 4 months in a year regardless if continuous or staggered)

Refers to the process of assessing a SWA if their SWD programs and services are compliant to the Department’s set standards.

What are the two Major Category of SWDA?

• Auxiliary SWDA

• Public SWDA

• Social Work Agency

• Private SWDA

• Social Welfare Agency

A SWDA that directly engages in SWD programs and services whether Center based and/or Community based using social work interventions, whether case work, group work, or community organizing.

• Auxiliary SWDA

• Social Work Agency

• Social Welfare and Development Agency

• Social Services

The following are type of Auxiliary SWDA, EXCEPT:

• People's Organization

• Research Agency

• Resource Agency

• Social Welfare and Development Network

TRUE OR FALSE: Valid certificate of registration and license to operate issued to SWDAs per DSWD AO 16 s. 2012 shall be valid until the expiration date as indicated in the DSWD issued certificate and shall continue to be recorded in the registry of SWDAs.
