Your friend might score poorly on an exam, so you want to share prohibited information about the exam to help them score better. Is this wrong?

• It’s not because you’re caring for your neighbor, as Jesus instructed.

• It’s wrong because what’s sinful is always sinful- even if you think it’s for a good cause.

• It’s sinful because you shouldn’t help your friends score well on exams.

• It’s not an ill deed. No one else is hurt or put at a disadvantage if you give your friend extra information about an exam. Instead, you’re being loving to your friend.

You suddenly feel anger stir up inside you after someone hurts you. Is this sinful?

• Yes; we must be joyful and loving at all times, as Jesus was

• No; anger in itself is not evil. It’s wrong when we use it improperly.

• No; it is okay to let out all your anger if someone hurts you. They deserve it for mistreating you.

• Yes; anger is not a virtue and thus something we should fight against- it is from the devil

What’s one way you can use the passion of anger righteously?

• Discussing someone’s rude behavior among your friends so they may also feel the way you feel

• By getting a bunch of people to shame someone into asking for forgiveness

• By addressing the wrongdoings of another person privately at first, then requesting help from a few others if they continue to sin against you or others

• By treating them the way they’ve treated you, so that they can fully realize their sin

• Something from the Holy Spirit that shows you the exact outcome of a situation

• A part of your mind, given by God, that never changes; it helps you work through difficult situations

• A God-given compass to discern good from evil; it can grow and change

• The same as your mind; it allows you to think and understand things

Your parents tell you to do something contrary to what you’d want to do. It’s not sinful, but you just don’t feel like doing it. How does God wish you to react? Why?

• He expects us to be obedient most of the time; but, He knows that we can’t always obey our parents. They don’t always know what’s right. So, God wishes that we act based on how we feel.

• He expects us to be obedient at all times, even in the smallest gestures, when we are not asked to do something sinful. He was obedient to his Father- even through death. So, He hopes we will obey our parents as long as they have authority over us.

• Our parents don’t own us; we are free to choose to do whatever we want and they should accept our choices. But, we should always respect them as Jesus respects the Father- that is what God wishes.

• We should be obedient to our parents for our entire life. Even when we have families of our own, our obligation is to serve our parents. Therefore, God wishes us to always do what they expect.
