Aerodynamics

• Refers to the study of objects in motion through the air and the forces that produce or change such motion

• Z)       The resistance of any physical object to any change in its state of motion (this includes changes to its speed, direction or state of rest). It is the tendency of objects to keep moving in a straight line at constant velocity.

• Refers to the qualifications that a pilot must have in order to fly under instrument flight rules (IFR), which requires additional training and instruction beyond what is required for a private pilot certificate

• P)      A hinged flight control surface usually forming part of the trailing edge of each wing of a fixed-wing aircraft. They are used in pairs to control the aircraft in a roll movement.

Aileron

• A reaction engine discharging a fast moving jet that generates thrust by jet propulsion

•   Flight control surfaces, usually at the rear of an aircraft, which control the aircraft's pitch. They are usually hinged to the horizontal stabilizer.

AGL

• The point over which an aircraft would balance

Air Traffic Control

• The longest side of a right triangle

• A service provided by ground-based controllers who direct aircraft through controlled airspace
