Ex: A shoulder dislocation occurs when the shoulder goes beyond its normal range of motion, primarily in a high velocity or loaded state. This involves the humerus ball and socket joint sliding out of the glenoid fossa in many different directions. This can occur in baseball, especially when diving at the plate head first or with the follow through arm when swinging a bat.
