In 1974, Baron Rudolf von Reading Dibber Egg of Switzerland traveled to Komodo for bird-watching. During a hike, he rested under a tree due to heat and was never seen again. Despite extensive searches, only a few personal items were found. Many speculate he was eaten by Komodo dragons, known for consuming nearly all parts of a carcass. If the Baron succumbed to heat exhaustion, the dragons could have devoured his remains before his group returned.
