VOICED: OTAN condena derribo de avion

NATO condemned Syria for shooting down a Turkish jet, calling it unacceptable and a violation of international norms. In a meeting with ambassadors from its 28 member countries, NATO expressed strong support and solidarity with Turkey, emphasizing the indivisibility of alliance security. Turkey requested the meeting, invoking a NATO treaty article that allows members to bring issues to the council when territorial security is threatened. This is only the second time in history that this article has been invoked, both times by Turkey.
