Ban Ki-moon, former UN Secretary-General, has been appointed as the new president of the IOC's ethics commission. He aims to ensure transparency and accountability within the organization. Ban Ki-moon was elected in Lima with 74 votes in favor. The session was overshadowed by allegations of vote-buying for the 2016 Rio Olympics. The COI, led by Tomás Bach, denied collective responsibility and awaits evidence from Brazilian authorities against Carlos Nussman, the Brazilian Olympic Committee president.
