FIFA has initiated a disciplinary investigation against the Mexican Football Federation due to offensive chants by some fans during Mexico's World Cup match against Poland. The investigation is based on Article 13 of FIFA's Disciplinary Code, which penalizes actions that offend the dignity or integrity of a country, person, or group. Penalties include a 10-match suspension for players or officials and a fine of $21,000 with a partially closed stadium for federations. This is the second such case, following a similar investigation against Ecuador.
