What must ALL test administrators do prior to the start of testing?

Students may log onto their computers on the day of their exam, but may not log onto NC Test. 

Proctors can assist in logging students into NC Test to help expedite things. 

Proctors are not allowed to handle any testing materials, including scratch paper, calculators, and laptops. 

Test Administrators must read the script each test exactly as it appears in the manual. 

Proctors may be dismissed by test admininstrator once testing materials have been picked up. 

Any discrepancies in the counts of testing materials should be communicated to the testing coordinator before leaving the testing room with materials.

Proctors should assist with getting students lined up and quietly standing in the hall while the test administrator logs each student onto NC Test. 

Once the test administrator has all students logged into NC Test, he/she may begin testing. 

Testing administrators must continuously walk around the room monitoring and checking for any possible misalignments or misadministrations. 

Proctors may remain stationary throughout testing. 

Proctors should assist testing administrators in collecting cell phones, smart watches and other electronic devices prior to students entering the test room. 

Testing administrators should ensure all cell phones, smart watches, and electronic devices are on silent or vibrate. 

Cell phones and electronic devices can be returned to students once testing is complete in the room. 

Only one student at a time should be sent out to a roving proctor to use the bathroom. 

If a student is found or observed with a cell phone/electronic device during testing the testing coordinator must be contacted immediately. 

The test administrator may show a movie or have board games for students to play once testing is complete in their room. 

If a student falls asleep during the test, a misadministration has occurred. 

Students who complete the test before the scheduled time is over must be provided the opportunity to read novels or other non-textbooks. 

If all students finish the test before the scheduled time period is over, the test administrator may end the testing session early by reading the info. in the assessment guide to end testing. 

If a student must use the restroom during the test, the proctor must ensure his/her test is paused (if online) and/or secured (if paper/pencil).

The test administrator and proctor may hold brief conversations or text one another during testing.

Once all computers are logged in and ready for testing, and before students enter, the testing administrator may leave the room. 

A trained testing administrator must be in the testing room at all times during testing. 

To log onto each computer, test administrators and proctors should use "testing" and "2015 test" 

Test administrators must use their NC Education user name and password to launch the actual test. 

Tests may be launched for students who are absent on test day. 

Students with extended time only do not require testing in a separate room. 

Students with read aloud accommodations must utilize this option. 

There is a specific script that test administrators must read if administering read aloud test sessions. 

The EC teacher/Case manager is responsible for completing the Review of Accommodation (ROA) form after testing. 

Testing administrator should post the start time, work time and break time on the front board where all students can see it. 

If all students except one or two have completed testing before the scheduled time, the testing administrator can alert the testing coordinator. 

During the 2 minute break, students may take a restroom break and/or talk. 

The test administrator for a read aloud session must check to make sure the volume is on and up prior to the start of the test. 

If a student shows up without a laptop on test day, they can sit and wait until someone else finishes

If I have any questions whatsoever (not sure how to do read aloud, don't see something in the manual, not sure about a student, etc.) I need to ask Gillette or Hudspeth well ahead of my exam.
