Pathfindering does not involve nature exploration, nor nature study.

Pathfindering does not welcome youth from other church denomination.

Pathfindering is a local program for the Youth Department of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Pathfindering accepts any youth who promises to abide the Pathfinder Pledge and the Law regardless of church affiliation.

The Pathfinder Pledge states that by the grace of God, you should be pure, kind and true; you should keep the Pathfinder Law; and you shall be a servant to God and a friend to man.

The Pathfinder Law is for you to keep the morning watch, do your honest part, care for your body, keep a level eye, be courteous and obedient, walk softly in the sanctuary, keep a song in your heart, and go on God's errands.

Pathfindering does not have a structured program, nor a checklist a requirements at all.

Pathfindering can be an avenue to develop skills in leadership, camping, technical-vocational, home and life, etc.

Pathfindering is meaningful because it gives worthwhile activities for spiritual discovery, friendship development, serving others, health and fitness, organization and leadership development, and outdoor living.
