The Mantle is the layer under the crust. It's where all the "lava" for all those active volcanoes comes from. It's weird in that it moves in a strange pattern that makes continental drift seem to happen. In fact, Continental drift was a working theory for YEARS until they realized that something was pushing on all those plates, making them move. Now we call it Plate Tectonics. So, how does the mantle move, to move all those plates around?
