More and more people are using geothermal energy to heat their homes. Geothermal energy comes from deep below Earth's surface where rocks give off large amounts of heat. By drilling into Earth, we can tap these sources of heat to heat homes and businesses. The environmental benefits of using geothermal energy are substantial. Its use greatly reduces our carbon footprint, since it does not require the use of fossil fuels.

Geothermal energy is reliable and cost-efficient. I have experienced great savings in my own winter heating costs by using geothermal energy. My customers also have seen their heating costs decrease. The cost of installing a geothermal heating system is balanced by the lack of monthly heating bills. The one-time installation expense results in decades of toasty warm homes at no additional heating cost.

Complaining about high energy costs and the effects of burning fossil fuels doesn't help. Exploring new ways to meet human needs while we act as caretakers of Earth is proactive. Considering geothermal heating as a solution to our heating energy needs is one important approach.
