Background Information (Context):
The Industrial Revolution led the United States to become a more powerful country.
This led to a population increase, improvements in technology, and a boost to the economy, especially in urban-city areas.
Over time, the U.S. established itself as one of the most powerful countries in the world and they began imposing (pushing) their control onto other countries and groups of people

Think back to what we have learned about Imperialism/Expansion: What groups of people or countries did the United States imperialize (try to control/take over)?

Annexation of Philippines
Spanish American War and how the US gained: the Philippines, Cuba, and Puerto Rico as a result.
