The course has a home page and/or getting started module that has an introduction to the instructor and to the course, including how to navigate throughout the course. 

Creation Time:

1. Copy a template from Course Commons OR

2. Build a "Getting Started" module

A PDF version of the syllabus is available and easily accessible. For syllabus requirements, please contact your department chair. 

Creation Time:

1. Open your Syllabus on Microsoft Word

2. Select the "Accessibility" Checker

3. Save your Syllabus as a PDF

4. Upload your Syllabus under the "Syllabus" tab in Canvas

*There is an accessibility checker in PPT too

Instructor contact information, office location, and office hours are clearly stated and easily accessible. 

Creation Time:

1. Add a page entitled to your getting started module

2. Title your page something to the effect of "Instructor Contact Information"

3. Add your name, office hours, and any mode of contact

The course gradebook is in alignment with your syllabus and setup by using weighted grading within Canvas to reflect an accurate portrayal of student grades. Canvas. (2021). Guide to Weighing Gradebook.

1. Add assignment groups

2. Click to weight your gradebook

3. Assign percentages to each assignment group that mirror your syllabus

Technology requirements for the course are clearly stated, along with information on how to meet technology requirements. 

Creation Time:

1. Import the "Technology Requirements" page from Canvas Commons, if you did not already copy a template

Students are provided an opportunity to introduce themselves within the course.
