Come si forma?

pronome soggetto + verbo (forma base)

3a persona + verbo + s

Alla 3a persona (he/she/it) al verbo viene sempre aggiunta -s al verbo, tranne in 2 casi:

1)

verbi che finiscono in -s, -ss, -sh, -ch, -o,

-x, -z si aggiunge -es

watch -> watches

fix -> fixes

2)

verbi che finiscono in consonante + y

si toglie la y e si aggiunge -ies

study -> studies

try -> tries

Quando si usa?

Si usa per esprimere un'azione abituale

I go to school

Per esprimere un qualcosa di generalmente valido

The dog barks

Per dare istruzioni o dire una direzione

Walk for 100 m, then turn left for the bank

Per esprimere un impegno prefissato
