แนะความหมายของคําศัพท์โดยการใช้คําศัพท์ เก่ียวกับส่ิงต่างๆ หรือเหตุการณ์ใดๆท่ีจัดเรียง หรือตามติดกันมาเป็นชุดๆ เป็นคําท่ีบอกจําพวก หรือประเภทของคําเฉพาะที่อยู่ในประเภทเดียวกัน มีความหมายใกล้เคียงกันแทนคําท่ีกล่าวมาแล้วเพื่อเลี่ยงการใช้คําซ้ำทำให้ประโยคสละสลวย เช่น animal, tool, vehicle, container และ vegetable .
