​Main Activity.

Show a number line from 0 to 1 marked in eighths but without labels.

Ask:What fraction goes on each marker?

Ask learners to work in small groups. They should roll two dice and create two fractions.

​Class Discussion.

Discuss with learners the properties of the fractions in each column, then label the columns, proper fractions, improper fraction( equal to a whole) and improper fraction(greater than a whole)

Ask learners to draw diagrams to show the relationship between fractions from the third column of their table and the equivalent mixed number. ( see worked example 3 in learners book page 84).
