What do you think the difference between the right and left is?
11
Circulation- Three Types
Coronary Circulation is the circulation of blood in the blood vessels of the heart muscle
Pulmonary Circulation is the circulation of blood from the heart to lungs and it is then returned, oxygenated, to the heart via the pulmonary vein.
Systemic Circulation is the circulation of the blood to all parts of the body except the lungs.
12
Vein and Arteries
The blood vessels that carry blood away from your heart and transport it to all part of the body are called arteries.
The blood is returned to the heart from all parts of the body by the veins.
13
Veins and Arteries
The veins only receive the blood after it has travelled quite far from the heart. The blood pressure in the veins is thus much less; the blood is certainly much less likely to burst through walls of the veins than arteries.
14
Multiple Choice
The job of the heart is to . . .
pump blood around the body.
send food to the small intestines.

Blood
-Blood in your veins has very little oxygen and is a dark red color that looks almost blue when covered by your skin. Your arteries have bright red blood because it has a lot of oxygen in it that is being carried throughout your body to be used by tissues.

How does this system work with others?
The blood vessels of the circulatory system form a complex network linking the outside environment with the internal environment of the body. The blood supplies all the living cells in the body with the nutrients they need to carry out their functions. The circulatory system must work closely with the respiratory system (which supplies the oxygen) and the digestive system (which supplies the nutrients)

Multiple Select
Choose the 3 TRUE statements about the circulatory system
The circulatory system and the respiratory system work together to deliver oxygen to all of the cells and tissues in the body.
The circulatory system and the respiratory system work together to remove CO2 and other waste products from cells and tissues in the body.
The circulatory system, respiratory system, and excretory system all work together to remove waste products from the body.
The circulatory system is a special system that does not work with other systems of the body.
