Why do atoms form chemical bonds?
Subject | Subject
Some text here about the topic of discussion
When atoms come together, they can react and form chemical bonds.
Chemical bonds are the force of attraction that exists between atoms.
The number of valence electrons that an atom has will determine if the atom will bond with atoms of other elements.

Chemical Bonding
An atom is stable when its outermost energy level is fully occupied with 8 valence electrons.
The octet rule is described below...
Atoms will lose, gain or share electrons to achieve 8 valence electrons. (Helium is an acception to the rule. Helium is stable with 2 valence electrons.)
Most elements in group 18 (Noble Gases) have 8 valence electrons.
Therefore, these elements have stable atomic structures and will not form chemical bonds with other atoms.
