STATE and ACTION Verbs

REMEMBER!

  • We do not use STATE VERBS in Continuous forms!

  • Some verbs can be used BOTH as a state verb and an action verb depending on the meaning, though.

  • Example: SEE (state verb when it means "look and notice" but action verb when it means "visit / meet")

  • BE CAREFUL about the meaning.

48

EXERCISE C.

  • Fill in the blanks using the verbs in the table.

  • Put the verbs into Present Simple or Present Continuous Tense.

  • Be careful, each verb is used once as a STATE verb and once as an ACTION verb.
