The leader of Macedonia was Philip II. Philip II had a big plan. He led the Macedonians to defeat the Greek city-states.
When Philip died, his son Alexander the Great became king. Alexander the Great conquered Persia and Egypt. Then he battled the armies of the Indus River Valley. Alexander's empire was the largest in the world.
