Audio Response
"patres" can in theory be a Nominative Ending. Based on the charts, it's a Nominative Plural ending. Why is it not the subject of the verb amat? Explain your reasoning in a brief audio recording.

8
The "SOV" word order is typical to Latin and what you will normally see. That is not a guarantee though.
9
The concept of SVA is not new to you. We discussed this many times. Yventon is particularly adept at identifying it in a sentence.
However, if you look closely at the chart toward the bottom, we are beginning to introduce MORE verb endings. On the next slide is a brief video discussing ALL these endings.
10
11
So verbs also have "person".
3rd Person is the only person where you can have a noun acting as your subject.
1st and 2nd person MUST use an English pronoun.
The flowchart on the left can help. We've already stated how important the verb is in the sentence. That is even more important now. The next several slides will have practice for you.

Pronoun Equivalents
You should have the chart of the 6 verb endings (Person and Number as the column and row headers).
