48. 1st Grade SRR: Sleds Slip

“Get on, Stan!” said Mom. Stan sits on the sled. Then Mom tugs Stan up the hill. It will be fun to sled on this hill.

Beth and Dad tug sleds up the hill. “Let them sled first,” Dad tells Beth. Beth nods. Stan and Mom get set. “This is it, Stan!” said Mom.

In a snap, Stan and Mom zip down the hill. Then their sled stops. It is stuck. Stan does not like it. “Mom!” Stan yells. “Fix the sled, Mom!”

Mom kicks at the sled. It slips. Then it spins. Mom and Stan spill off into a hill. Stan slips off on top of Mom. “That was fun!” yells Mom.

Mom checks on Stan. “Did you get your hat?” Mom asks him. “No,” sobs Stan. He can not find his red hat. Stan misses his hat.

“Here is my hat, Stan,” Mom tells him. “Step off the path, Stan. Dad and Beth will not get stuck! Let them pass us. Let them sled.”
