How to use:
It is helpful to identify a direct object before looking for the indirect object. So...
Find the direct object (answers who or what?) Remember you have to have a direct object in order to have an indirect. Sometimes the direct object is implied. Ex. Decir- Yo le digo al niño. (What I'm telling is the direct object but it isn't explicitly stated.
Find the indirect object (answers to/for who or what?) The IO tells us where the direct object is going.
The placement for indirect objects is the same as for direct obejcts and reflexive verbs.

Reflexive pronouns are used when the action is being done to oneself.
Reflexive pronouns are used to tell who the action is being done to (e.g. to myself, to yourself, to himself, etc)
The reflexive pronouns are as followed: me, te, se, nos, os, se
34
Repaso- Direct Object Pronouns
Replace the direct object in your sentence
The DO receives the action of the verb - find your verb and ask the question "what?" or "who?" after the verb.
I bought a shirt for my mom. "Bought what?" - a shirt
The direct object pronouns are as followed: me, te, lo/la, nos, os, los/las
35
Repaso- Indirect Object Pronouns
Indirect Object Pronouns replace the Indirect Object.
The IO benefits from the action of the verb answering the question "to whom?" or "for whom?"
The indirect object pronouns are as followed: me, te, le, nos, os, les
Key words to find the indirect object are "a" (to) and "para" (for)
Note: these are the ones that we use with Gustar & friends
36
Where can these pronouns be placed in your sentence?
directly before the conjugated verb -- Lo compro, Lo estoy viendo
attached to an infinitive- Vamos a lavarnos las manos
