Functions of Digestive System

  • Digestion: The process of breaking down food into nutrient molecules.
  • Nutrients: Substances in food that provide raw materials for essential processes.
  • Transportation: Nutrients are picked up and transported by blood from the circulatory system.

13

Circulatory System:

Picking up and transporting nutrients by blood is the role of the circulatory system in digestion. It ensures that the nutrients extracted from food are delivered to the body's cells for energy and growth. Without this vital process, digestion would be incomplete and nutrients would not reach where they are needed.
